Indian community celebrates Onam Harvest Festival in Roosky
The Indian community in Leitrim, Longford and Roscommon, held their Onam Harvest Festival on September 9th in Roosky Community Centre.
Onam is the biggest festival in the Indian state of Kerala. It falls during the Malayali month of Chingam [August to September] and marks the homecoming of legendary King Mahabali.
Special guest on the day in Roosky was Fianna Fáil Senator Eugene Murphy.
