‘Beo le Ceol’ concert in Drumshanbo

Students of the Irish Traditional Music course in Drumshanbo will present their Beo le Ceol “Alive with Music” concert on Friday, March 7th in The Mayflower, Drumshanbo.

The students of the Irish Traditional Music course in Drumshanbo are alive with music, song and dance. Under their tutor Mossie Martin, they are busy rehearsing as well as organising all the logistics of their Beo le Ceol “Alive with Music” concert on Friday, March 7th at 8 p.m. in The Mayflower, Drumshanbo. The concert will raise money for two charities – the Alzheimer Society of Ireland and North West Hospice.

Tickets, which cost €10, are available at the door (U-12s free ) or through Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/beo-le-ceol-tickets-1241991974429) and donations may be made through iDonate (www.idonate.ie/BeoleCeoltradcourse2025).

The Drumshanbo Traditional Irish Music course was established in 1997 building on the success of the annual Joe Mooney summer school and is one of the only courses of its kind in the country, attracting students from all over the country and further afield.

The course provides an introduction to the world of traditional Irish music, song and dance to adults of all ages, all instruments and all abilities including complete beginners.

The students play music every day and when the modules are completed, students receive a Level 5 QQI Music Award.
