Transition Year students at Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown wowed audiences over three nights last week as they brought their musical, ‘The Wiz’ to the stage.

With a vibrant mix of song, creative dance, vibrant costumes, innovative make-up, and clever set design the students brought this 'stormy' storyline to life.

Dorothy, with her friends the lion, the tin-man and the scarecrow in tow, navigated her way along the yellow brick road in search of her return to Kansas.

‘The Wiz’ is a re-imagining of the classic Wizard of Oz and the class of 2026 truly made it their own.

More that 100 students put a huge amount of time and effort into this show.

“The experience of bringing a script to life on stage is one which will stay with the students long after their time in Scoil Mhuire and is a testament to the great experiences and opportunities afforded to them in Transition Year,” said a school spokesperson.
