Champions to turn on Castlerea's Christmas lights

What a month November has been for Castlerea. Not only did St Kevin’s win a Connacht title but they are now through to an All-Ireland semi-final.

This also coincided with the Oscarz night which involved a large number of people getting the acting bug, whether that was in front or behind the camera. It certainly was a night of shining stars when the films were aired and all in aid of St. Anne’s National School.

That buzz of excitement is still very much in the air and will be underlined when members of the Castlerea St. Kevin’s Intermediate team switch on the Christmas lights in the town, joined by a very special guest.

The last few weeks have seen many people involved in the erection of the lights and on Friday, December 8th all their hard work will be unveiled at 7 p.m..

Prior to this there will be music and light refreshments for children.

People are asked to arrive at The Square 15-20 minutes early so that they don’t miss out on any of the excitement.
