In memory of the late Michael Creighton & Pat McCrann, a Tractor Run will take place on Sunday, August 2nd at Sheepwalk, Frenchpark. Run begins at 1 p.m. sharp. Registration from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.. Fee is €20. Music on the day with Chloe Sweeney with a DJ to follow. All proceeds will go towards supporting the schools in the four church areas.
Letters have been distributed throughout the parish areas regarding a farewell for Fr. Micheál Donnelly. Anyone who did not receive a letter, but wishes to contribute can place a donation in an envelope marked ‘Donation towards Fr. Micheál’s Farewell’ and drop it into the collection basket at the weekend Masses or hand it into the parish office in Frenchpark.
The death occurred suddenly at her home of Mrs Philomena Silver Keegan, The Bronx, New York and formerly of Tarmon, Castlerea on Saturday, July 11th last. Sister of Pat Nee, Cloonarragh, Fairymount, Phil was predeceased by her parents Michael and Bridie, sisters Agnes and Mary, brothers John, Brendan, and Gerard, and husband Kevin. She will be profoundly missed by her daughters, Laura and Lisa, son-in-law, Darren, grandsons, sisters Breege, Pat, Catherine, and Ann, brother Michael, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Reception of Phil's ashes took place into St. Patrick's Church, Castlerea for Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, July 20th last.

May they rest in peace LOTTO Western Gaels held its weekly lottery draw on Saturday, July 25th last. There was no jackpot winner. The numbers drawn were 5, 7, 17 and 23. The next draw (jackpot €3,700) will take place at the clubhouse in Frenchpark on this Saturday, August 1st. Tickets are available on-line through the Clubforce app or from local outlets.
Masses will be held in Frenchpark at 7 p.m. on Thursday (30th), Ballinagare at 7 p.m., Fairymount at 8 p.m. on Friday (31st), Ballinagare at 8.30 p.m. on Saturday (1st) and in Frenchpark at 10 a.m. on Sunday (2nd). Visits to the sick & housebound will take place in Frenchpark/Ballinagare on Friday (31st) and in Tibohine/Fairymount on Tuesday, August 4th next.
Mass will take place at Tibohine Old Cemetery on this Saturday, August 1st at 7pm; Fairymount Old Cemetery on Sunday, August 2nd at 11.30 a.m. and Kilcorkey Cemetery on Friday, August 7th at 7 p.m..
All who will be attending the annual Cemetery Mass at Fairymount Old Cemetery on Sunday, August 2nd are invited to visit and view the Memorial Garden after the Mass. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee afterwards.
A family sports day will take place at Tibohine Community Centre on Sunday, August 23rd next from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.. Further details will be available at a later date.

Castleplunkett Development Association in conjunction with Roscommon County Council is delighted to invite everybody to the official opening of the Castleplunkett Community Space on Thursday, July 30th in Castleplunkett Village. The official opening will take place at 5p.m. by Minister Dara Calleary and Roscommon County Council. Come celebrate with a pizza party, face painting and lots of fun for all ages. This space has been transformed into a place where people can play, connect and thrive together, a space that has been built for the community, by the community, for everyone. Come along for a great evening and become acquainted with the space that you will all get lots of enjoyment from now and into the future. All welcome.
The monthly dance continues on Sunday, August 2nd with music by Jimmy Kearney and Terry McGowan. Dancing from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.. Admission €10, come along for a great night of dancing. The net proceeds from dance will be go towards the Harvest Party, which will be held in September.
The Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht Dara Calleary will visit Tulsk pitch this Thursday 30th July at 5:45pm to officially open the walkway around the new pitch, which was funded by his Department's CLAR Programme. This event is open to everyone to attend.
Hard luck to our Minor team who lost out to Cork for the All Ireland title on Saturday last in Tullamore. The ladies did themselves and the county proud with a solid performance against a tough side. The intermediate game against Fermanagh will take place in Croke Park on Sunday 2nd August. We wish them the best of luck for victory and hopefully they bring home the silverware. Ros Comáin abú.
St. John’s Cemetery Mass will take place on Sunday, August 2nd at 11.30 a.m. weather permitting.
Mrs Eileen O’Connor, Ballagh, Rahara, and her extended family have been bereaved by the death of her brother, Tommy Gately, Liswilliam, Dysart who passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25th at his residence, surrounded by his loving wife, Nuala and family. Tommy had the pleasure of celebrating his 79th birthday last April. He had been in ill health for a short time. He was well known amongst the farming community with his long-time involvement in farming and as a turf contractor. He was also well known on the social side together with his wife Nuala as they competed in many waltzing and jiving competitions over the years. He was regarded as a very friendly and well-respected man and had many friends. He is sadly missed by his loving wife, Nuala; sons Declan, and Enda; daughters, Caroline and Mairead; grandchildren and his only surviving sister, Eileen O’Connor, Rahara, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, neighbours and many friends and relatives. His funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, June 29th at The Church of Christ The Good Shepard, Four Roads followed by burial in Tisrara Cemetery. The Mass was celebrated by Very Rev. Francis Berine P.P of Ballyforan, Dysart and Tisrara. May he rest in peace.
