Congratulations to Cuan, Freya, Tadhg, Lakshmi, Deirdre and Eimear from Abbeycartron NS who were the winners of an Easter art competition run by our Abbeycartron Parents Association. Well done to all the children who entered. The Parents Association had a tough job picking out a winner from each class.
Thanks to everyone who has been dropping bottles/cans off in the orange bottle return bin. The first load of bags headed off to Carrick last week and €117 was raised for the school, well done everybody.
The All-Ireland Scór Sinsir finals will be held on Saturday, April 26th at the TF Castlebar. Elphin quiz team will be representing the club. Best of luck to the team.
Rehearsals are in full swing for a variety show, which will take place on May 17th in Elphin Community Centre. It promises to be a great night with many groups in the community involved in the production.
Line dancing with Shannon takes place in An Bothar Rua every Wednesday at 8 p.m.. It’s great fun and everyone is welcome.

Elphin windmill, the oldest operational windmill in Ireland, was substantially damaged during storm Èowyn and needs major repairs. A historically and culturally significant site in the agricultural life of Ireland, Elphin Windmill needs your support in raising funds to get the repairs done and reopened for the public as soon as possible. Abbeycartron NS is running a cash for clobber fundraiser. Recycle your unwanted clothing and help raise funds for the school. Drop off location is Abbeycartron NS gates, only on the following dates - May 1st and 2nd, 9.20 a.m. 2.10 p.m. and 3.10 p.m.; Saturday, May 3rd, 10 a.m..
The Windmill Classic will take place on Sunday, June 8th from Elphin Community Centre, €30 for cycling club members, €20 non-members. Hot food served afterwards. The 100k starts at 9 a.m., 50k starts 9.30 a.m.. Proceeds this year will go to the Elphin Windmill repair fund.
The regular Tuesday night music sessions start at 8.30 p.m.. Thank you to all the wonderful singers who attended the singers night on Easter Sunday.

Mary, a most popular member of the staff at Cryan's Hotel for many years, is noted for her friendliness, good humour, her pleasant and welcoming smile and her caring attention to all customers.
A 6K Run/Walk and 12K run will take place around Cavetown Lake on Monday, May 5th. Registration 9 a.m. and event commencing at 10 a.m.. Entry €10, family €20. Raffle, spot prizes and refreshments. Proceeds to Cavetown Amenity Centre Repair Fund. All support much appreciated.

Leitrim's Health is Wealth event takes places in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon on Saturday, May 3rd at 8 p.m.. The event features a live podcast, music and conversations to raise awareness about mental health. The "Where is My Mind" podcast, founded and hosted by musician Niall Breslin (Bressie) explores how people can better look after themselves in the modern world. Other speakers on the night include singer/songwriter Charlie McGettigan and Dr. Catherine Dolan, Consultant Psychiatrist. This a free event and tickets are available at www.healthyleitrim.ie and the Landmark Hotel reception. Doors open 7 p.m., event commences 8 p.m..
