Best of luck to local players Darragh Heneghan, Robert Heneghan, Cathal Heneghan and Dylan Ruane in their Connacht senior semi-final against Mayo on Sunday in Hastings McHale Park, Castlebar. There was great disappointment at the Roscommon Cup semi-final loss to Carrick Town by two goals to one. Andrew Glennon got the team off to the perfect start with an early headed goal from a Michael McGarry cross. However Carrick Town took the lead in the second half and despite exerting sustained pressure Cloonfad could not get the much sought after equaliser. Darragh Flynn had a penalty claim turned down and there were great efforts from Daithi Gannon and Jack Madden. This has been a great year for the club and more silverware opportunities await.
