The Saddlers Inn annual Tractor and Truck Drive in memory of Michael Creighton took place on New Year's Day. All proceeds will go towards Croí and the National Breast Cancer Research Unit. The numbers drawn in the online lotto draw this week were 8,12,13 and 26. There was no jackpot winner. There were two Match 3 winners – Anne Conboy and Louise Kennedy. The jackpot for next week now stands at €8,800 and can be played via the Boyle GAA Club App or in various outlets locally.
The death took place peacefully on January 3rd with her family by her side of Mrs Teresa Carney, (née Durr), Behy, Boyle. Predeceased by her husband, Thomas, she is sadly missed and remembered with love by her son, Tommy; daughters, Mary and Margaret; her sister, Margaret; grandchildren, Jack and Rose; sons-in-law, Seamus and Tom; nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Removal to St. Joseph’s Church, Boyle on Thursday, January 8th, arriving for prayers at 7 p.m.. As per Teresa’s wish, her funeral Mass will take place, privately on Friday.
The death occurred on Friday last, peacefully, at Sligo University Hospital, in his 93rd year following a life well lived, of Mr Seamus Camplisson, Abbey Haven Care Centre, Boyle and late of Ballinafad and Belfast. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife of 64 years, Pat; daughters, Jacqueline and Siobhan and his son Ciaran’ his adored grandchildren, Eilish, Ewan, Cian and James; sisters, May, Kathleen and Bernie; nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours, and wide circle of friends. Following Mass of the resurrection on Monday in St. Joseph’s Church, Boyle Seamus was laid to rest in Killursa Cemetery, Headford.

Congratulations to Enda Smith and Jean Flanagan who recently celebrated their wedding. The Boyle and Roscommon footballer wedded his Loughglynn fiancé on New Year’s Day and celebrated with family and friends.
The death occurred suddenly but peacefully last week of Mr Joe McDermott, Ardagh, Boyle. Pre-deceased by his father John, mother Lena and brother Oliver (Ollie). Survived and sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his wife, Betty; daughters, Pamela, Fiona, Chloe and son Jonathan; his adored grandchildren, Fionn, Lena and Éanna; brothers P.J. (Westport), Dermot (Boyle) and sisters Mary (Kilkelly) and Ann (Ballinameen); mother-in-law, Teresa Coen, son-in-law, Derek and daughter-in-law Catherine, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours, and wide circle of friends. Following Mass of the Resurrection in St. Joseph’s Parish Church, Boyle, on Thursday, he was laid to rest in Assylinn Cemetery.

The death occurred on Wednesday, December 24th, suddenly, at Sligo University Hospital, of Ms Patricia (Patsy) Moran, Cortober Hill, Carrick-on-Shannon and formerly of Leitrim Village. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mai, Patsy will be sadly missed by her brothers, Noel and Cyril; sister-in-law, Bernadette; niece, Nicola; nephew, Thomas; niece-in-law, grandnephew, grandniece, her neighbours and friends. Following reposal at the Patrician Hall, Cortober on Monday, December 29th, Funeral Mass took place on Tuesday, December 30th in St. Michael's Church, Drumlion followed by interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Carrick-on-Shannon.
