Mass will be offered in Rahara Cemetery on Sunday, August 9th at 10.00 a.m. A collection will be held at the Mass to assist with the ongoing maintenance and enhancement works in the graveyard.

The multi-purpose sign on the Village Green is proving its value time and time again. It is currently promoting the annual Open Day, organised as always by Williamstown Heritage Society, at Templetogher Heritage Area on Sunday, August 23rd from 1 to 4 p.m..
A meeting will be held in Templetogher on this Wednesday, August 5th at 8 p.m.. All members are asked to attend. This is now the busiest time of the season, with major events coming up regularly, particularly during National Heritage Week, August 15th to 23rd, so the group is actively continuing with its preparations for these occasions.

Congrats also to the players and management of the Roscommon ladies intermediate football team on winning the All-Ireland title by defeating Fermanagh in the final, also in Croke Park on Sunday.

A number of groups will be visiting Templetogher during Heritage Week, and then a Heritage Open Day will be held there on Sunday, August 23rd from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with the main event at 3 p.m.. It promises to be one of the best Open Days, with many elements of heritage being celebrated, as the programme includes Irish music, Irish dancing, songs, poems, excerpts from relevant books etc, and finishing with a couple of tributes to well-deserving people. The Templetogher Open Day programme can now be seen on the official Heritage Week website.
All those, including Leo Finnegan, Williamstown, who were involved in the documentary "Tumtha" which was shown on RTÉ 1 on Tuesday, July 28th, want to say a huge THANK YOU to all those who took the trouble to send complimentary messages about the documentary. The positive reaction to the programme was overwhelming, and the many favourable comments received meant so much to all those involved in the film. Those of who missed the live screening of the documentary can see it on the RTÉ Player for the next few weeks. The fact that the content of the documentary, about efforts to revive the Irish language in the early years of the state, was appealing to so many people is a matter of great satisfaction to all concerned, while the fact that the reaction to the programme was so universally positive is a source of massive pride for all.
