An open evening will take place at Glanduff NS on Thursday, February 26th from 6 to 7p.m.. Parents are invited to come to meet the staff and see the school. Enrolment forms will be available on the evening.
The Roscommon Underwater Search and Recovery Unit thank all for the generous support of its recent church gate collection. A total of €141.80 was raised in Knockcroghery, €278.21 in Rahara and St. John’s, €372.71.

There was no winner of the St. Ronan’s GAA lotto jackpot. Numbers drawn were 4,19,20 and 24. Fleadh Ceoil Roscomáin takes place over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, April 3rd - 6th in Roscommon Town. Fleadh competition entries to be with the Keadue branch by Sunday, February 18th. Late entries will not be accepted. Entry forms can be downloaded from www.comhaltas.ie. Membership fees, if not already paid, should be included with competition entries.
The Yeats Ridge Forest Rally will be taking place in the Keadue area on February 15th. The event will be held on Coillte property and increased activity and traffic may be noticeable in the area on that day.

The Rural Men’s Group meets every Thursday at 12 noon in St. Ronan’s Hall, Keadue. New members are always welcome to join for a three-course meal, great company, social interaction, and a range of activities and outings throughout the year. St. Michael’s GAA will host a night dedicated to celebrating the incredible people who make the club what it is at Drumhierny Hideaway & Lodge on Saturday, February 28th. Doors open at 7 p.m.. Awards ceremony will include 2024 & 2025 Junior Player of the Year, 2024 & 2025 Intermediate Player of the Year, 2024 & 2025 Club Person of the Year, and a brand-new Hall of Fame Award honouring outstanding service.
The sympathies of local residents are extended to the family and friends of the late Mr Anthony (Tony) Hamill, late of Bunowen, Ballyconneely, County Galway and formerly of Tomona, Tulsk. The deceased passed away peacefully in the care of staff at Galway University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. The deceased was a highly respected and pleasant individual, whose unassuming and gentle nature meant he had a pleasant word for everyone he met. Predeceased by his wife, Bernie, parents, Martin and Kate, his brothers, Tom and Larry, sisters, Margaret, Mary, Julia, and Annie, and his daughter-in-law, Catherine. He is survived by his daughter, Carol; son, Tony; son-in-law, Terence; grandchildren, Rebecca, Sean, Murrough, Aideen, Grainne, and Deirdre; great-grandson, Tony, extended family, and a large circle of friends. The deceased reposed at the Chapel of Rest, Ballyconneely last evening (Monday). Funeral Mass takes place this morning (Tuesday) at 10.30 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Family, Ballyconneely, followed by burial in Tulsk Cemetery, arriving at approximately 3.30pm.
The next meeting of the Society will be its AGM this evening (Tuesday, February 10th) in the Rathcroghan Visitor Centre from 8 p.m.. At this meeting, there will the traditional talk from the society’s secretary, Albert Siggins who will give a short lecture on the Wigglesworth’s of Churchpark, Roscommon. The family patriarch, Joseph was a Lieutenant in the 49th Regt which served against the American colonists in the 1770’s. All members are invited to attend the meeting – new members are welcome.

‘Maiden, Mother, Saint’ is an art exhibition about one of our national saints, St. Brigid, which has been created by Frenchpark based artist Natalie Folan. The exhibition will remain on display for the month of February at Rathcroghan Visitors Centre during normal opening hours. The exhibition was recently launched to coincide with celebrations marking St. Brigid’s Weekend.
Expressions of interest are now being taken for draughts classes in Tulsk. If sufficient numbers express an interest, classes will be held in Tulsk Macra Hall on Mondays from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.. For further information, contact Felicia on 086-083 1264.
The staff and pupils of Tulsk NS are taking part in the WEEE Ireland Schools’ Battery Recycling Challenge. They need your help with collecting used batteries, so that they can be in with a chance of winning a €2,000 sports equipment voucher for the school. Tulsk History Society holds its first meeting of the year on this Wednesday at 8 p.m.. The Society’s annual quiz will be held in O’Connor’s on Saturday, March 14th. With the recent survey of Killina Cemetery being prepared for uploading to the Society’s website (Tulskhs.com), six of the parish’s seven cemeteries have now been completed. Plans for the survey of Rathmoyle Cemetery and a project for this year’s Heritage Week are on the agenda. Anybody wishing to join the Society should email historytulsk@gmail.com.
