3,000 homes, farms and businesses are still without power in County Roscommon with areas in West and North Roscommon still severely affected.

Parts of Castlerea, Ballaghaderreen, Frenchpark, Fairymount, Boyle and Arigna have now been without electricity for almost two weeks.

Some current restoration dates suggest that power won’t return to some areas until next week.

At one stage, up to 15,000 Roscommon customers had no electricity and several communities are still without water.

41 emergency response hubs providing hot food, showers and charging facilities are in operation across the county.

Roscommon County Council also has a humanitarian support helpline – 1800 637100 - for those who need assistance regarding accommodation, welfare support and hot food requirements.

A spokesperson for ESB Networks said crews and resources, partner contractors and international support are mobilised to restore power to remaining customers as soon as possible.

18,000 ESB customers in total remain without power across the country since Storm Éowyn hit Ireland on January 24th.
