€3m council contract advertised for upgrade of 15 derelict houses
The derelict homes will be transformed into social housing units.
A contractor is being sought to upgrade and refurbish 15 derelict houses at the Shannon Valley estate in Ballaghaderreen.
Roscommon County Council has advertised a tender for the contract, valued at €3m.
Two years ago, the local authority purchased the derelict houses in Shannon Valley on the Sligo Road following an agreement brokered with the receiver and insolvency firm.
Once refurbished, the properties will be transformed into social housing units.
The time-limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate in the tender process is July 28th next.
