All seats filled in Roscommon LEA
Fianna Fail's Larry Brennan and Fine Gael's Gareth Scahill who were elected to Roscommon County Council for the first time on the sixth count. They represent Roscommon Municipal District.
Just before 1 am, all of the seats in the Roscommon LEA were filled on the sixth count.
FG first time candidate Gareth Scahill was elected to the fifth seat on 1,625, followed by FF candidate 1,393.
The quota was 1,491, meaning Mr Brennan was elected without reaching the quota. Returning officer, Caitlin Conneely announced the results to the expectant crowd and the men were lifted on their supporters' shoulders.
This means that FF has retained its three seats in the Roscommon Municipal District.
