Army unit dealing with ‘hazardous item’ find in Roscommon

An operation is currently underway in Roscommon Town following the discovery of what is believed to be a hazardous item.
The item was discovered in a vacant building on Main Street/Chapel Lane earlier on Thursday morning.
A unit of the Defence Forces' Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team is currently at the scene, along with Gardaí, rendering the hazardous item safe.
Chapel Lane in the town is currently closed, while the operation remains ongoing.
