Boyle set for 2024 Run Walk 'N Roll event

The 2024 Run Walk 'N Roll event will take place in Boyle on Sunday, October 13th at 2 p.m..
This is the 29th event raising funds for cancer research. In the last 29 years the Boyle event alone has raised over €200,000 for cancer research.
As the largest voluntary funder of cancer research in Ireland, through the generous donations from the public, the Irish Cancer Society provides approximately €4m in funding per year on cancer research.
This research is in areas focused on catching cancer early, developing new and improved treatments, clinical trials, as well as survivorship research – ensuring people affected by cancer have good quality care and quality of life.
Last year the Irish Cancer Society funded 188 researchers all around the country working hard improve the outcomes of those affected by cancer.
Registration for the Boyle event will take place in St. Joseph's Hall on the day from 1 p.m.. Adults, €10, children, €5, family concessions. The route is 5.4km and will start from St. Joseph's Hall, going via Bridge Street, Main Street, Abbeytown, Maple Drive, Carrick Road and back to the hall via Marian Road. Light refreshments will be served afterwards. This is a non-competitive event for all ages and abilities and a fun day out for all the family.
“If any person or group would like to dress up or push a bed (bed available) they are more than welcome. Sponsorship cards are also available. Pupils from Abbey Primary School are in the area with sponsorship cards please support them. Thank you to each and every one who has supported the event over the years and helped make it a wonderful success,” said organisers Damian and Pauline Regan and family.
