Carrick footpaths need upgrading
A Leitrim county councillor has called on the council to look for funding for the upgrading and resurfacing of the footpaths along Park Lane from McGreevy’s gate at Lisnagot right along the football field on the opposite side.
Speaking at a recent meeting of Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District, Cllr Paddy Farrell also said that footpaths in St. Patrick’s Park and Breffni Heights needed attention.
In a report from the roads department, the council stated: “St. Patrick's Park has received a large amount of funding in the past few years which has improved the public footpaths.
"We do not have specific funding for new footpaths within the 2026 budget."
