A moderate weather advisory has been issued for County Roscommon as the weather is set to become significantly colder across the county.
Met Eireann has advised that it will turning much colder next week with a spell of cold and wintry weather across the country from Monday onwards and throughout much of next week with frost, ice and showers, most widespread in the north and parts of the west, including County Roscommon.
The forecast is still uncertain for Sunday night into Monday as a low-pressure system tracks over/near Ireland. There will be persistent rain over much of the country, heaviest over Ulster with the possibility of some sleet and snow on Monday.
Hazardous ground conditions are expected Tuesday to Friday due to frost and ice with cold day and night-time temperatures. Expect poor visibility in any wintry showers is the advice from Met Eireann.
