Connolly on course for victory in Roscommon with 63.8% of vote

The people of Roscommon-Galway have spoken with a united voice as tally figures suggest that Catherine Connolly is on course to record 16,329 first preference votes, Heather Humphreys, 7,605 and Jim Gavin 1,671.
With the final tally complete at the Hyde Centre in Roscommon, the figures are indicating that the turnout in the Roscommon Galway constituency was 48%, or 28,293 voters, Connolly received (with spoilt votes), 63.8% of first preferences, Gavin, 6.5% and Humphreys 29.7%.
Spoilt votes in the constituency are running at 11.2% with huge dissatisfaction being expressed by voters.
