Contractor sought for new athletic track in the county

A contractor is being sought for the first phase of the construction of the county’s new athletic track.

The Lisnamult Community Enterprise group is inviting tenders to carry out earthworks to prepare the proposed site at Lisnamult for the construction of an eight lane, 400m running track and in-field, with all access roads, and car parking.

The estimated value of the project excluding VAT is €275,000 and the duration of the contract is three months.

The deadline for tender submissions is August 15th. The track, which has been widely welcomed, was granted planning permission last year. County Roscommon is one of the only counties in the country without its own athletic track.
