Roscommon County Council is pursuing enforcement over two ‘unauthorised developments’ in the Hodson Bay.
Two “unauthorised developments” in the Hodson Bay area of South Roscommon are the subject of planning enforcements by Roscommon County Council, the Herald has learned.
The local authority has confirmed that a case involving one of the developments, which includes an access road, chalets, mobile homes, and a large storage shed, is currently before the courts.
A spokesperson said the development “remains the subject of an ongoing case on which Roscommon County Council has pursued enforcement, culminating in the matter being before the courts”.
The council confirmed that enforcement is also being pursued in relation to a “recent development activity on separate lands further north”.
“Upon becoming aware of this unauthorised development, the council took immediate action.
“Following this, on Friday, July 11th, the council issued an enforcement notice under Sections 154 and 155 requiring the cessation of works and stipulating actions to remedy this matter," the council said.
Enforcement is the means by which a planning authority moves to ensure that unauthorised development becomes compliant with planning.
