County Roscommon residential farm sells for record price in online auction

A County Roscommon farm with a residence, an agricultural building and c 36.57 acres of land has been sold via an online auction by DNG Ivan Connaughton auctioneer.

The residential farm, located close to Mount Talbot village, was offered for sale in five lots and after two rounds of offers sold for €608,000 in three lots, auctioneer Ivan Connaughton has confirmed.

After Lots 1 & 2 were omitted, Lot 3, comprising both combined residence and agricultural building on c. 26 acres, was put on the open market at €235,000 and after strong interest and 74 further bids, sold under the hammer for €507,000.

Lot 4 (c. 8.57 acres at Cloonca) and Lot 5 (c. 2 acres of boglands at Cloonakilleg) were then sold under the hammer for €95,000 and €6,000 respectively that resulted in a combined online auction sale of €608,000, "a record price in recent times in County Roscommon," said Mr Connaughton. 

The auction of the farm machinery on the lands will be held on Saturday, February 7th on the property.

“We were delighted to offer this property for sale, firstly by private treaty and with it attracting substantial interest offering for sale by online auction," said Mr Connaughton.
