‘Criminal damage’ to signs in County Roscommon supporting Mayo is condemned

‘Criminal damage’ to several signs along the Ballaghaderreen By-Pass, wishing the best of luck to Mayo ahead of this afternoon’s All-Ireland final, has been condemned.
This afternoon Ballaghaderreen Independent Councillor Micheal Frain said that “traveling towards Dublin on the Ballaghaderreen Bypass, you’ll see the Roscommon and Mayo flags flying side by side on your right. On your left, unfortunately, you’ll see the result of criminal damage.
“A number of signs were vandalised last night. Regardless of which county you support or where you are from, this type of behaviour has no place in sport and is completely against the spirit of fair competition and respect,” said Cllr Frain.
The councillor has “strongly “condemned this behaviour and has appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has any information, to contact Ballaghaderreen Garda Station on 094 986 0002.
“Let’s support our teams with pride and respect—not vandalism,” said Cllr Frain.
