Deep shock in West Roscommon following death of popular figure in road tragedy

The community of Castlerea is in deep shock this morning following the tragic death of the well-known and popular figure, Tommy Bruen, in a local road accident on Monday evening.

Mr Bruen, late of Main Street and Ballindrimley, Castlerea, ran a bicycle shop and filling station in Castlerea for many years. He was also a vey talented Gaelic footballer in his day.

Predeceased by his wife Mary, he is survived by his children Dara, Gráinne, Caoilinn and extended family.

Tributes have poured in following Mr Bruen's untimely passing.
