Discovery of elderly man’s body in Sligo
The discovery was made last night.
Gardaí in Co Sligo are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body in Enniscrone last night, Monday.
At approximately 11.10 p.m., gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a male in his 80s was found unresponsive on the road at Church Lane. He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.
The coroner has been notified. A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course, the results of which will determine the course of the Garda investigation.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, including any road users who were in the area of Church Lane, Enniscrone, between 10 p.m. and 11.15 p.m. on October 6th 2025.
Additionally, anyone who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and was traveling in the area at the time is asked to make it available to Gardaí.
