Exciting building for Monksland Christmas lights ceremony

Monksland will be getting into the festive spirit this Friday as its Christmas lights will be switched on.
The South Roscommon community’s annual tree lighting ceremony will take place on Friday December 5th at 6.30 pm at the SuperValu carpark in Monksland.
Organised in association with the council and Monksland Town Team, the event will feature loads of local talent, free hot chocolate and sweets, a visit by Mrs Claus and the lights being switched on by Santa himself.
Monksland Town Team said it will be a community event not to be missed.
“Bring along the whole family and help us kick start the Christmas season here in Monksland. What a way to add to the excitement of the Late Late Toy Show. There will be plenty of treats, music and festive cheer. Let the Christmas magic begin,” the group said.
