This year, the Irish Heritage Trust property is presenting a trio of holiday events guaranteed to delight visitors of all ages.

The Victorian Christmas Experience 2025 runs from November 29th to December 22nd and transforms Strokestown’s stunning Palladian mansion into a winter wonderland brimming with old-world charm. Wander through beautifully decorated rooms where theatrical storytelling brings Christmas traditions to life and meet Santa and Mrs Claus for magical memories. Guests can also enjoy professional family portraits with Santa and shop for keepsakes, festive gifts, and seasonal treats, all amidst the grandeur of the restored Strokestown House.

For families seeking a more gentle pace, the Victorian Christmas Sensory & Accessibility Experience on Sunday, November 30th, offers a specially adapted morning session. In small groups, children can meet Santa by the fire in the house library with the guidance of a friendly elf, create woodland-inspired crafts and games in the vaulted stables, and enjoy a hot drink in the Woodland Café. Chill-out spaces are available for quiet moments, ensuring everyone can soak up the festive atmosphere comfortably.

Animal lovers are in for a treat at “Paws & Claus”, a Sunday afternoon celebration for four-legged friends and their families on November 23rd between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.. Dogs are welcome to meet Santa (and enjoy a special biscuit baked by Mrs Claus), pose for pet-friendly professional photos, and explore the enchanting gardens and woodland trails together. Visitors are reminded to keep dogs on leads and consider whether the bustling event is suitable for their pet.
