The turnout for the presidential election around the Roscommon Galway constituency has remained low, with most places seeing fewer than half of the electorate turn out.

The total electorate in the constituency for the presidential election is 60,278.

Voting has just closed at the 124 polling booths around the constituency with South Roscommon seeing the largest turnout at 55.36% of voters. This was to prove the high watermark.

In Ballaghaderreen, the turnout was 30.8% as polls closed at 10pm this evening.

Eyes will now turn to the counting, which will begin in the Hyde tomorrow morning at 9am.
