First ballot boxes opened and tally figures are emerging with Connolly taking early lead
Counting gets underway at the Hyde Centre.
The first batch of ballot boxes for the Roscommon-Galway constituency have been opened at the Hyde Centre, Roscommon this morning.
Tally counters arrived at the count centre earlier and as the tallies are counted, a clearer picture of who will win the race for the Áras will come clearer.
Turnout and the number of spoiled votes will also become clearer as the morning develops.
With the first batch of early tallies in the Athlone LEA and Roscommon LEA boxes have been opened first and this is the picture that is emerging from a sample of partial boxes opened:
