Funding for social enterprises in County Roscommon

Funding has been announced for a number of local social enterprises.

A number of social enterprises in the county have been awarded funding with the aim of assisting them in achieving their social, environmental and economic objectives.

The Melting Pot Community Society in Roscommon Town will receive the largest amount of €39,668.15 to fund the purchase of an EV van and portable power station and a Cambro box.

Ballagh Community Hub has been awarded €15,000 for the installation of solar panels to improve the energy efficiency of the organisation while Tulsk Action Group CLG T/A Rathcroghan Visitor Centre will receive €14,301 for the installation of improved mobility accessways at Rathcroghan Visitor Centre.

Elphin Community Centre Ltd has also been awarded €8,898 to fund the installation of concrete to the entrance area of the community meeting room, which will improve safety and in turn grow the social enteprise with increased activity.

Roscommon County Development Fund CLG has been granted €7,987 to fund the enhancement of the security system and Hot Desk facility in the hub.

The national €4 million being granted is made through the Growing Social Enterprise Scheme supported by the Dormant Accounts Fund.
