Funeral details announced for County Roscommon road accident victim

The late Geraldine Gannon.
The funeral arrangements for the elderly woman who died following a road traffic collision at Scramogue on Tuesday evening have been published.
Geraldine Gannon (née Fallon) lived at Oakfield, Strokestown, Roscommon and was aged in her eighties.
Beloved wife of the late Dermot, Geraldine will be sadly missed by her sorrowing brother J.J.; sister Rita (Cox); nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, brother-in-law Dermot, sister-in-law Marella, cousins, her carer Linda, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Geraldine is predeceased by her husband, her parents Tom and Mary Kate and her brothers Mattie and Stephen.
Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown, on Thursday, September 18th, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. followed by removal to Strokestown Parish Church.
Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, September 19th, at 11 a.m. followed by burial afterwards in St. Coman's Cemetery, Roscommon.
The fatal accident involving a SUV and a truck occurred at Scramogue shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
The driver of the SUV, a female in her 70s, was transferred by air ambulance to University Hospital Galway to be treated for serious injuries.
The section of road which had been closed for forensic examination reopened earlier today.
