Further information sought on proposed windfarm
Members of Ballyfeeney Action Group and Ballyfeeney NS representatives handing the objections into the council earlier this year.
The council is seeking further information on a proposed windfarm before it makes a decision on the planning application.
A decision was expected yesterday on a proposed windfarm in the Ballyfeeney/Kilglass area. Ballyfeeny Green Energy now has six months to respond to the council’s request for further information.
There is opposition to the proposed plans to build six wind turbines in the areas of Tully, Ballyfeeney, Pollymount, Bellanamullia, Scramogue, Treanaceeve, Ballyhubert, and Tooreen.
The Ballyfeeney Action Group has welcomed the news, saying it will continue its campaign.
“We won’t rest or be complacent, the committee will be working hard on evaluating the further information when it becomes available and taking the next steps.” It also thanked the public for their support and submissions.
“We think that the council fully understands the incredibly strong feeling amongst the community that this application should not proceed.”
