Fine Gael’s candidate Dympna Daly Finn has been eliminated on the count 5 in Roscommon-Galway. Her votes of 2,425 are now being distributed.

SF’s Claire Kerrane, who now stands on 9,331, could benefit from Ms Daly-Flynn's transfers due to geography but she would require a significant amount to reach the quota of 10,283 at the next count.

FF’s Dr Martin Daly continues to make gains and now stands on 8,010. Independent candidate Senator Eugene Murphy, on 5441, has now jumped ahead of FG’s Senator Aisling Dolan, who has 5,228. Both candidates could pick up transfers from Ms Daly-Flynn. The count is entering its final stage now.
