German supermarket chain planning new store in County Roscommon Town
Aldi's expansion plans nationwide are set to include a new store in Boyle.
German discount supermarket chain Aldi is planning to develop a new store in Boyle, according to a planning notice that was recently erected at a site in the middle of the North Roscommon town.
The plans involve a reconfigured site access from Patrick Street to lands to the rear in order to facilitate the construction of a single storey discount food store with an off-licence.
The supermarket will be 1,315 square metres in size, according to the planning notice erected by Aldi Stores (Ireland) Ltd.
Provision for 96 car parking spaces, 10 cycle parking spaces and a bicycle shelter are part of the plans.
The proposals also includes the erection of a internally illuminated two sided pole sign at the site entrance at Patrick Street along with two internally illuminated store signs at the northern elevation and eastern elevation.
Aldi are now set to lodge a formal planning application and the sale of the site is subject to planning.
