Fifteen historic building projects in County Roscommon have received conservation funding totalling €143,363.

The funding has been allocated under the 2025 Built Heritage Investment Scheme, which supports property owners to conserve, repair and enhance historic buildings and streetscapes.

Fifteen Roscommon conservation projects were among 650 successful applicants to receive more than €8m in grant funding.

One of the largest beneficiaries in Roscommon is the former Grehan’s music shop on Main Street in Boyle, which receives €20,000 in funding for the conservation and protection of historic window glass.

The Gate Lodge at The Square in the Castlerea has also been allocated €20,000 for lime rendering.

Rockingham Stable yard in the Rockingham Demesne in Boyle secured €14,000 in funding for the conservation and protection of historic window glass.

Three local beneficiaries get €12,000 each: the former Grealy's Hotel, Main Street and Church Street, Ardnanagh, Roscommon Town (windows, doors and associated elements); Cashlieve House, Cashlieve, Castlerea (historic window glass conservation/protection) and St. John’s Church of Ireland, Church Street, Strokestown (historic window glass conservation/protection).

Edmonstown House, Ballaghaderreen benefits from €11,000 for draught-proofing of windows, doors and other openings while St Anne's on Abbey Street in Roscommon Town receives €9,000 for historic window glass conservation and protection.

The other Roscommon beneficiaries are: Grehans, Mid Main Street, Boyle - €6,000 for shopfronts; Railway Station, Cleaboy, Ballintubber - €6,000 for rainwater goods repair/replacement; Boyle Federal Church, Carrick Road, Boyle - €6,000 for historic window glass conservation/protection and eternal joinery repair; Church of Ireland, Donamon - €5,363 for rainwater goods repair/replacement; Carrigard House in Boyle, €5,000 for roof repair, structures and coverings including leadwork; and Eternal on Main Street, Elphin - €5,000 for external fixture repair.
