'Immense sadness' following death of local man in road accident

Tributes have poured in following the death of a Roscommon man in a road accident over the weekend.
Last night Kilglass Gaels GAA Club said it was with "immense sadness that it shared the terrible news of the passing of our former player Padraig Nugent".
“Padraig was part of our 1999 winning team that captured the Intermediate title,” it said. “He played with the club at all levels, and last year he enjoyed celebrating the 25 year anniversary of the 1999 winning team. Padraig was well known for his aerial dominance and his very unique soloing and kicking style.
“We all have many memories of Padraig, and we are very saddened by his untimely passing.” The club extended its heartfelt condolences to his mum Ann; sisters Geraldine, Trisha and Helen; cherished children Megan and Ryan; their mum Claire, and to all his family and friends during this difficult time.
As a mark of respect, the club's flag was flown at half mast.
