Joe Duffy paid tribute to the late Kathleen Dalton.
Former broadcaster Joe Duffy has paid tribute to the late Kathleen Dalton (nee Rushe) of Upper Elphin Street, Strokestown.
Writing on X (formerly Twitter) he said "Midwife Nurse Dalton RIP was the epitome of Public Service. Delivered thousands of babies at home including me. Strong, professional, caring," with a link to the Roscommon Herald article.
Ms Dalton trained as a state registered nurse and later specialised in maternity nursing.
She later joined the staff of the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin, where she spent many happy years, until her retirement. She was responsible for the safe delivery of Joe Duffy.
She passed away peacefully on November 1st at her home, surrounded by her loving daughters and sons.
