The third annual Asian Restaurant Awards took place in Dublin earlier this week.

Local restaurants have been celebrating success at the third annual Asian Restaurant Awards, which took place in Dublin earlier this week.

Zaiqa, Roscommon Town, took home the Best Indian FOH (Front of House) team in Connacht.

Khin Khao, Athlone, won the Best Thai Restaurant in Leinster, while the Best Indian chef Connacht, went to Zaiqa, Ballinasloe.

The awards, which took place in the Castleknock Hotel on Tuesday evening (September 30th), saw 250 guests in attendance.

There were 59 awards up for grabs, covering a variety of categories such as Most Authentic, Best Takeaway, Best Chef and Best Front of House. New categories this year included an Innovation Award, a Legacy award, and Best Vegetarian Restaurant.

“It is more important now than ever to celebrate our restaurant culture, and particularly how it has been enriched by the Asian diaspora making a home here.

“These fabulous restaurants and the people behind them, enrich our lives, through their food, expressive flavours, and making the most of our wonderful Irish produce too. We are already looking forward to next year as so many of our winners announced new openings,” said Paul O’Connor, founder of Asian Restaurant Awards.
