A man charged with allegedly assaulting a Garda is due to reappear before Athlone District Court in May, when a hearing date will be fixed.
Lazar Avric (35), with an address at Claremount, Ballyforan, County Roscommon, appeared before Judge Bernadette Owens.
It is alleged that, on August 5th, 2025, at Athlone Garda Station, Mr Avric assaulted a Garda and obstructed another.
A third charge relates to August 4th, 2025, at Athlone Garda Station, where it is alleged that, while under arrest for a road traffic offence, he refused to give a blood or urine sample when directed.
Judge Owens adjourned the case to May 13th for mention to fix a hearing date.
