Man gets community service for theft

A 28-year-old man was given community service at a recent sitting of Castlerea District Court for a theft offence.

Kyle Hanmore, with an address at 2 Ard Castle, Cregaslin, Castlerea, appeared before Judge James Faughnan prosecuted for stealing a shoulder of vodka worth €12.50 from Corrib Oil, Racecourse Road, Roscommon.

The incident happened on June 22nd, 2025.

His solicitor Mary Mullarkey said that there was a community service report before the court, which found her client suitable.

The judge handed down 160 hours community service to be completed within one year, in lieu of four months’ imprisonment.
