Minute's silence to mark passing of councillor’s brother

A minute’s silence was held at the May meeting of Boyle Municipal District as a mark of respect to the late Ollie Callaghan, brother of Cllr Liam Callaghan.
Cathaoirleach of the MD Cllr Sean Moylan said Ollie had left his home in Tulsk as a young man and became a plumber in Dublin. He helped out many young men from Tulsk in getting a start in the city.
He was also a member of the 1984 winning Tulsk intermediate team with his brothers, the late Gerry and Liam.
“It is sad now to see two of those brothers have now passed,” said Cllr Moylan.
He offered his sincere condolences to the family of Ollie who passed away peacefully in the Mater Hospital on May 9th.
Cllr Micheal Frain also stated this was terrible blow for the Callaghan family while the other members also offered their sympathies. Cllr Callaghan thanked everyone for their condolences and for the support shown to him and his brother’s family.
A minute’s silence was then held.
Ollie was predeceased by his wife Nuala, parents, Tom and Katie, his brother Gerry and father of the late Dáire.
He is survived by his daughters, Tara and Katie, son-in-law Aran, daughter-in-law, Nicky, grandson Daithí, brother Liam, sisters Aileen and Eithne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass took place in the Holy Trinity Church, Ratoath followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
