A 21.55-acre parcel of agricultural land at Ballyconboy, Ballinagare, attracted strong interest from farmers and land investors before selling for €320,000 at an online auction last week.
The lands, located near Ballinagare and Castlerea, were sold through the LSL online auction platform by Keith McLoughlin and Cathal Meares of Sheehy Meares Team Earley. The property was offered for sale as one lot.
According to the auctioneers, bidding opened at €190,000 and quickly gathered momentum, with 14 bids lodged before the hammer eventually fell at €320,000. The sale generated significant competition among prospective purchasers, highlighting the continued demand for quality agricultural land in the area.
The holding is comprised in Folio Numbers RN4353 and RN4354 and consists of quality roadside lands that are well fenced and supplied with water. The property also includes a stone shed and livestock-handling facilities, making it suitable for beef, sheep or mixed farming enterprises.
Speaking after the sale, the auctioneers confirmed that several unsuccessful bidders remain actively seeking farmland in the locality, underlining the strength of the agricultural land market across north Roscommon.
Keith McLoughlin and Cathal Meares thanked their client for entrusting the sale to Sheehy Meares Team Earley and wished the purchaser success with their new acquisition. They also acknowledged the role of Liam Staunton of Liam Staunton & Co. Solicitors, Galway, who oversaw the legal aspects of the transaction.
