Partners, garlic bread and runners: A journey through Uber's lost and found
Uber has announced its inaugural Lost & Found Index in Ireland
From everyday essentials like phones and wallets to quirky finds such as a partner, buggy or even a kebab, a new Uber survey highlights the surprising treasures discovered in an Uber ride.
Uber has announced its inaugural Lost & Found Index in Ireland, showcasing the most common, peculiar, and downright amusing items left behind by passengers over the past year.
Irish Uber users seemed to have trouble keeping track of their phones and even their luggage. These items topped the list of most commonly forgotten belongings. Glasses and passports were also frequently left behind, while keys and wallets feature significantly too. Despite their best efforts at Uber, it seems that even essential items often embark on solo adventures without their owners.
Uber's data reveals that weekends are prime time for forgetfulness in Ireland when weekend celebrations turn into Sunday morning searches. The number of items reported lost around the festive Christmas season when holiday cheer is at its peak also spiked, causing unneeded stress following Santa’s visit.
Not all forgotten items are as mundane as phones or keys. Some unique items have been found by Uber drivers across Ireland:
• Their partner (!)
• A buggy/pram
• Garlic bread
• A kebab
• A pair of runners
• Grey paint
