Popular priests congratulated on their Diamond Jubilee
A Mass to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of former PP of Athleague, Eugene McLoughlin, will be held on Friday evening.
Two popular local priests have been congratulated on their Diamond Jubilee.
Athleague Camogie Club sent its best wishes to Fr. Eugene McLoughlin, former PP of Athleague, ahead of his milestone occasion.
Fr. Eugene retired from active ministry in 2021, having been Administrator of Athleague parish for the previous seven years.
“Fr. Eugene has always been and continues to be a great supporter of Athleague Camogie Club, we are very grateful of this,” said the club on Facebook.
There will be a mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon on Friday evening, June 19th, at 7 p.m. to mark Fr. Eugene’s Diamond Jubilee.
The same Mass will also celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of former PP of Castlerea, Fr. Joe Fitzgerald.
A golf and Gaelic football enthusiast, Fr. Joe retired from Castlerea parish in 2016, and has been an integral part of community life in the Roscommon Town area for many years.
