Prison sentence handed down
Judge James Faughnan said the accused was “playing pup with the system”.
A 43-year-old man was sent to prison for three months at a May sitting of Roscommon District Court.
Erick Cardoso G Dos Santos, with an address at 1 Silveiras Building, Main Street, Castlerea, pleaded guilty to making a false declaration to obtain a licence at Newtown, Ballymurray on August 6th 2025.
The court was told that the accused had three previous convictions for false instruments and no insurance. His solicitor Sean Mahon acknowledged that his client had a significant past.
Judge James Faughnan said the accused was “playing pup with the system” and he imposed the sentence.
Recognisance was fixed in the event of an appeal.
