Reported arson attack on County Roscommon home

Gardaí are investigating an incident which is being treated as a possible arson attack on a home in the Lisnamult area of Roscommon Town.

Extensive damage was caused to the front of the house during the incident, which occurred at about 4 a.m. this morning, Saturday.

It’s understood that there were people in the house at the time but no-one was injured.

Emergency services attended the scene and investigations are continuing.

Responding to queries from the Herald, a Garda press spokesperson said: "Gardaí responded to reports of criminal damage by fire to a domestic residence in Roscommon Town, Co Roscommon in the early hours of Saturday morning, June 20th. Investigations are ongoing."
