Restaurant awards for County Roscommon businesses
Bastion Kitchen, Castlerea received two awards at the Irish Restaurant Awards Connaught Regional Finals 2024.
Businesses from across County Roscommon were rewarded at the Irish Restaurant Awards Connaught Regional Finals 2024.
Mike Waldron of Waldron Family Meats was named Roscommon’s Local Food Hero with Patrick J Rigney of The Shed Distillery winning the same award for Leitrim.
The Best Café award went to Rogue & Co Café (Roscommon) and Tegi's Tearoom Carrick On Shannon (Leitrim).
Éabha's Street Kitchen claimed the Innovator of the Year award for Roscommon with Leitrim Hill Creamery selected for the same title.

The Best Sustainable Practices award for Roscommon went to Castlerea’s Bastion K2tchen while they also claimed the Best Customer Service award. Riverbank Restaurant secured the former award for Leitrim while Dartry Café scooped the latter.
My Kitchen by Sham Hanifa won Best World Cuisine for Roscommon while The Cottage Restaurant claimed the title for the Leitrim area. J Beirne’s was named Roscommon’s Pub of the Year while Carrick-on-Shannon’s Flynn’s Bar scooped the same award in Leitrim.
Other Roscommon winners included The Old Stone House Restaurant Roscommon (Best Wine Experience), The Coachman's Inn (Best Newcomer), Keenan's Hotel Bar & Restaurant (Best Contemporary Irish Cuisine), Hester's Golden Eagle Bar and Restaurant (Best Gastropub), Athlone Golf Club Restaurant (Best Casual Dining) and The Purple Onion Kitchen (Best Restaurant).

Meanwhile, Lauren Walsh, Regan's Gastro Pub and Restaurant (Employee Excellence Award), The Douglas Hyde Restaurant at Kilronan Castle (Best Hotel & Guesthouse Restaurant), Michele Montis, The Waterfront Restaurant (Best Restaurant Manager) and Martin Duffy, Athlone Springs Hotel (Best Chef) were all chosen for individual accolades.
For Leitrim, The Sandstone Restaurant at Lough Rynn Castle, Morning Glory Café, The Red Bank Restaurant, The Oarsman, The Selkie and The Sandstone Restaurant at Lough Rynn Castle all claimed silverware.

Saoirse Supple, Honestly Farm Kitchen (Employee Excellence Award), Gabriel Camburu, Buffalo Boy (Best Restaurant Manager) and Piero Melis, The Courthouse Restaurant (Best Chef) scooped individual awards.
The event, held at the Knockranny House Hotel in Mayo brought together culinary talents and hospitality greats from across the province to celebrate Ireland’s food-led hospitality industry.
Following the completion of all regional events and the announcement of county winners, attention will turn to the unveiling of regional and All Ireland winners at the prestigious All Ireland Awards Gala Dinner, set to take place at the Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road, Dublin 4 in May.
