Roscommon GAA club mourns the passing of its president

The late Josie Lenehan.

Tulsk GAA club is mourning the passing of its Club President.

Josie Lenehan, Manor, Tulsk, passed away peacefully in the loving care of Roscommon Hospice, yesterday, July 1st, surrounded by his loving family.

In a social media message, Tulsk GAA said it was saddened by his passing.

“Simply put, Josie was a staunch club supporter and a gentleman, popular with young and old. An executive eommittee member for many years, Josie described his role as Club President as "the honour of a lifetime". We are honoured to have known you Josie.

“We extend our deepest sympathy to Sadie, Patrick, Joseph, Ann and the extended Lenehan family on your loss,” saif the club.

Josie is pre-deceased by his parents Patrick and Margaret, and his brother Michael.

He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Sadie, his sons Patrick and Joseph, his daughter Ann, brother PJ, sister-in-law Phil, daughter-in-law Rhoda, son-in-law Frankie, his eight grandchildren, Michael, Shona, Cillian, Alisha, Nicole, Rebecca, Kellie and Sarah, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Josie will repose at O'Connor's Funeral Home, Tulsk on Thursday, July 3rd from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Removal on Thursday evening to the Church of Saints Eithne & Fidelma, Tulsk, arriving at 8.30 p.m..

His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 4th at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Tulsk Cemetery.
