Speed limit signs in County Roscommon village sending mixed signals

Motorists leaving Loughglynn in the Ballaghaderreen direction have been left scratching their heads in recent days — and not because they have forgotten where they are going. The puzzle is rather more basic: what is the speed limit?
One sign on the way out of the village indicates 60kph, while another offers 80kph. Usually, a roadside sign is there to settle a question. Here, the pair appear to have started an argument.
It is an unusual take on a village send-off: two signs, two limits and not a hint of agreement. For motorists heading towards Ballaghaderreen, the message could hardly be clearer — except, of course, for the message.
