Tom Mulry from Jamestown, Four Roads, celebrated his 100th birthday yesterday, Saturday, amid an outpouring of well wishes.

Two local GAA clubs were among those who extended their hearty congratulations.

Four Roads hurling club said that Tom had made an immense contribution to the club through his sons and grandsons who have featured on many of its club teams. 

They include Eamon, Conor and Cormac who were part of last Sunday’s county final winning team.

St. Aidan’s GAA club also wished Tommy a very happy birthday.

“He is an amazing 100 years young today. Tommy is a great character and a true gentleman. Enjoy the celebrations with your family and friends,” the club said.

Tommy's grandsons, Conor, Eamon and Cormac, were in action for St. Aidan’s in yesterday’s County JFC semi-final.
