Roscommon men are romantics at heart

Roscommon men are romantics at heart if a new report on engagement ring buying is anything to go by.

The end of year report from Bespoke Diamonds Ireland shows that 57% of Roscommon men chose the engagement ring themselves, which indicates they may be a bit more romantic than the average Irish man (51% was the national average). 

According to the data, while the average spend from Roscommon was lowest in the country at €3,458, the average carat weight was 1.4ct, which is above average and 60% chose lab grown diamonds.

“This data combined suggests that Roscommon customers tend to go for the more sustainable lab grown options in bigger sizes,” according to a spokesperson for the company.

In terms of trends, in Roscommon these have included everything from timeless diamond solitaires to contemporary designs, reflecting a blend of traditional and modern tastes. The top ten rings were: Round Solitaire Yellow Gold; Oval Solitaire Yellow Gold; Oval & Round Side Stone Yellow Gold; Oval Three Stone Yellow Gold; Radiant Solitaire Platinum; Round Three Stone Yellow Gold; Cushion & Pear Three Stone Yellow Gold; Round & Pear Three Stone White Gold; Round Side Stone Yellow Gold; Oval Side Stone White Gold.
